Ms. Tomoko Honami is an attorney-at-law qualified in Japan.
She graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Letters in 2009 (Bachelor of Arts, Sociology) and the University of Tokyo Graduate School for Law and Politics in 2011 (Juris Doctor). Having passed the bar exam in 2011, she has been qualified as a lawyer since March 2013. Before joining KUBOTA, she worked at law firms in Tokyo, handling general corporate matters. She thereafter joined KUBOTA in December 2016. She obtained an LLM in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London in 2023.
Her practice mainly focuses on IP (trademarks, anti-counterfeiting, customs seizures, unfair competition, designs, patent and copyright). She also handles general corporate and commercial matters. She is a member of the Japan Trademark Association (JTA) and has served as a board member since 2018. She acted as the chairperson of the Court Decision Study Group of the JTA from 2018 to 2022.
She speaks English and Japanese.
